The Backgammon Challenge is the brand new way to test and grow your skills in Backgammon.
By matching you against the worlds best players you can explore your skill and decision making across thousands of real world games. See how you compare to the Pro’s and help to develop your game.
THE CONCEPT
As two Pro’s play-out a match you are in prime position. Watching from the sidelines you can see each dice roll, but how would you play the move.
The Backgammon Challenge invites you to the table. By selecting one of the Pro players you have your say on how each dice roll should be played. You play each move how you think it should be made before your selected Pro plays the same roll. After you have both played your moves you can see how you compare, did you match the Pro or did one of you play a better move.
After both moves are made the in-built A.I. ranks them to give a final comparison, letting you know how well you match Pro level play. Once you’ve seen the analysis the game continues to your opponents turn, but keep an eye on what they do, the next dice roll will not be far away.
Roll the dice
You take charge! At the start of your turn you Roll the dice, and then it’s up to you.
You play how you want to play. Are you building points or taking blots?
Match the Pro
Are you playing at a Pro level? Your move is compared to the Pro to see how well your moves match up.
Or did you see something they missed?
The Analysis
What’s the outcome. The A.I. analysis will help you there. At the end of each turn you can compare your move and the Pro’s to the in-built A.I. to see how they stack up.
Winning the game. As you play through the Pros will be offering and taking doubles, adding another element to your games and another dimension to your decision making. Ultimately the Pro’s will decide to play out the game or concede, but how well does your play compare.
Matching up your decision making with the Pro to increase your rankings and get your moves Ranked #1 by the A.I. all help to improve your game. At the end of each game you can see how well you performed and go on to play out the entire match as each professional players. As you play more games you can watch your stats increase compared with each of the Pro players, and your rank will show you how well you match with each of their playing styles at the international level.

We’ve come up with a new way to enjoy playing Backgammon and develop your skills as a players, and we want to share that. From beginners to international masters there is always the challenge to improve and put your skills to the test. Challenge yourself to play like a pro.
While we have a great game now there are lots of ways we want to keep improving the experience. This could be adding new features to the game, having scoreboards and competitions, or updating graphics and gameplay. So that’s why we want to hear from you. There are a lot of ways to go about it, but most importantly we want the community to get involved.
